  • How to pirate music [for @megbar]

QUICK, WHAT ARE TORRENTS? You get a really little ‘torrent’ file that tells your computer to download certain big files [songs] from a bunch of other people who have the same little torrent file. The more people sharing the better! yay gay!

    1. Download Torrent Client Thingy: Transmission for Mac, uTorrent for PC. Tell it where to download music to in preferences or some shit. It’ll prolly be in the Music folder duh.

    2. Go to thepiratebay.org and search for what you want. Likewise, go to google.com and search for your favourite music, appending the word ‘torrent’ afterwards.

IMPORTANT: Torrent sites display how many Seeders and Leechers there are for each torrent file. Seeders are people with all the song files and are sharing them and Leechers are people like you who are still downloading the files. You want ones with a lot of Seeders and more Seeders than Leechers. This will ensure that it goes fast bla blah. You can sort the list by number of Seeders for site like thepiratebay.org which makes it easier to choose a torrent that’ll be fast bla blah.

    3. Download the torrent file which should run through your torrent client thingy automatically. While downloading the files you will be sharing what you’ve downloaded. That’s how this torrent shit works. Wait till the progress bar fills up and it says that the downloading part of your journey is finished.

    4. Remove the torrent file from the client thingy when you want to stop uploading the files you just downloaded. It will continue to share the files until you do this. Press play in iTunes or whatever you use to play terrorist-fuelling music.
