    our latest work:
  • [Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

Old little jam that I forgot to post up at the time; Glints is a cool little tune with some simple keyboard soloing.

Very straight kind of funk tune with a few sloppy bass lines and standard 909 drums. Hands.

Quirky little synth beat to begin with then a more melodic, awkward funk tune with a processed vocal, deep bass. Mohawk.

An exercise in making each instrument sound as it would on a early 70s funk recording. Drums are crisp but lo-fi, bass is just bass and the guitar is twangy. Nice little tune; Dial Sh for Shhhh.

The idea for this track kind of came from Edvard Grieg’s In The Hall of the Mountain King, which he composed for Henrik Ibsen’s play Peer Gynt. It’s a really well known piece in TV and film. The instrumentation follows a chase by the trolls after Peer Gynt, ending with the Mountain King going after the protagonist himself and then the mountain collapsing as he escapes.

So what I did for Higher In The Helium Hall was introduce bigger instruments and time signature changes to signify changes in a narrative and introductions of characters. While listening to this track you could imagine a chase similar to that of the Mountain King.
