And the second Slime Squad recording since our return, P/M is dirty synth liveness and toughnut vocals. Steve Shock can’t help the gruff griminess lately.
First one back for Slime Squad since the studio delay. Your favourite Frank Force ish jazz beat plus Hook has a dumb hook which is rad which is dumb.
Over the time we’ve been recording together it’s become apparent we’re wizards and last year we put together a tune with as many references to this fact as possible. If you hear only one hiphop tune by wizards in your life, make it First Quest.
We have seriously recorded this verse on four separate beats, all quite different and becoming the preferred version after we finish. Fez was the last one we did with these lyrics, so is now the definitive version. I still dig the others.
Scorpio is the first track off the old demo, good slow tune and includes a Melvins-esque breakdown at the end when we do live shows.
This is one of my favourite of Bigs’ verses - and also a very old one. Nowadays he wouldn’t dream of doing punchins but this one flows real nice about his Habits.
