A Parody Mass

Mass Streams 700+ and counting! Watch & Listen...

Inspired by the Gaelic waulking songs, or *orain luaidh*, traditionally sung by women during the communal waulking of wool, this streamed collection examines the interconnected themes of work, ownership, and dissociation, reflecting on how these concepts shape our understanding of labor and identity.

A Parody Mass can be a live audio-visual series

The livestream hopes to simulate the ritual of work, it's process and dependency on the past: the other's work.

Through the use of repetition in both visual and auditory elements, the artworks evoke the rhythmic essence of waulking, illustrating how song and labor intertwine to sustain the process and the community.

A Cassette Remix

The /mass/cassette project is an act of destructive creation that transforms a mass-produced commodity into a unique, 1:1 artifact.

Physically erasing the original audio to make room for the remix: the project asserts a permanent occupation of the medium where the new work can only exist through the literal sacrifice of the old.

Remaining offline: the work bypasses the digital ecosystem, restoring scarcity and intentionality to a tangible, localized event. This process strips the original recording of its commercial sanctity, reclaiming the "invalid" medium as a site of analog subversion that cannot be undone.
