They conceive of three types of individuals: spiritual, material, and animal. The material inevitably decays into corruption. The animal soul, if it chooses wisely, finds rest in an intermediary realm; if not, it faces destruction. They argue that the spiritual essences originally sown by Achamoth, though initially weak upon their release, have since been nurtured and disciplined within righteous souls. Ultimately achieving perfection, these spiritual essences will be united as brides to the angels of the Savior. Meanwhile, the animal souls, by necessity, reside eternally with the Demiurge in the intermediary realm. Further distinguishing among the animal souls themselves, they posit that some are inherently good and others inherently evil. The good ones are those who can receive the spiritual seed and become pneumatic, while the inherently evil ones are unable to receive this seed and remain hylic.
